Open that Bottle Night is coming up soon! This year the date is February 28. The OTBN tradition began in 2000 as the brainchild of Dorothy Gaither and John Brecher of the Wall Street Journal. The idea is to pick a bottle of wine you’ve been hoarding and crack it open for no other reason than to just drink it. So start thinking about what special bottle you’d like to open. I’ve got a few in mind, which will help me on my goal of drinking some of the bottles I’ve been stashing away for no reason.
I’m gaining on my Century Club goal. Slowly but surely. We’re at grape number 78 now, so we still have 22 to go. Look for upcoming posts on obscure varieties as we close in on number 100! Though I’ve pretty much exhausted my local wine shops now, so I think I’ll have to be hunting down new ones on the internet!
