*Disclaimer: I received this wine as a sample from Rued Winery.
I can see clearly now the rain has gone…. 🙂 I’m dancing a little bit today, it’s the first day I’ve woken up to in about 3 weeks where it is sunny out!! We have had the dreariest March ever, ran, fog, gray skies every day! In honor of the lovely weather, I’m breaking out the white wine! Today’s wine is the 2007 Rues Sauvignon Blanc. It had a plastic cork closure, clocked in at 13.5% alcohol by volume, and retails for $16.
On the nose I found grass, citrus, lemon, hay, tropical notes, sweet orange notes, and limes. For the mouth, I first wrote down: holy lime batman! I also got flavors of lemon, grapefruit, grass, oranges, and clementines. The citrus on this wine really shined, but I didn’t find it bracing or overwhelming at all.
Overall I’d describe the wine as tart and refreshing with well balanced acidity. This would be an easy drinker for a summer evening on the porch, hopefully in my backyard (or second front yard as the county calls it) where I’ll still have a fence after I’ve been robbed by the county government!

I have heard good things about the Rued SB and it sounds like you would agree. Not sure I like the lime though, but sounds like one to try.
Cheers!
I agree, was a good one…the lime was not off-putting, I promise!
I haven’t had this one but I found their Zinfandel to be delicious. I purchased it
in a local store in Marin County and just loved it. If you haven’t tried it try it. I will try this white.
Ciao,
Charles
Charles, I haven’t tasted the Zin….thanks for the tip though!!
