More from the Thanksgiving wine files. Lots of folks like Pinot Noir with their Turkey Day feasts. Personally, I’m ok with whatever everyone else likes for Thanksgiving and I wanted to offer a variety of choices, so I picked up this bottle of 2007 Cloudline Pinot Noir at the Madison Wine Exchange. It cost about $17, had a plastic cork, and clocked in at 13.5% alcohol by volume. The wine hails from Oregon and I see it available on the internet for as low as $14. At $14, this is a really good value Pinot Noir.
On the nose I got spice, cherry, raspberry, red fruit, and a hint of Coke. In the mouth I found cherry, spice, pepper, raspberry, and Dr. Pepper. If you are looking for a sub $20, this is a really good bet for the money, and even more so if you can find it for the $14 I see online.
