*Disclaimer: I received this wine as a sample from the PR folks for Wines of Chile.
Up second in the Wines of Chile online tasting, a bargain Pinot Noir. I think overall the participating bloggers had mixed feelings about this one, but I’m in the, at $15, this is a nice new world Pinot and would probably go over very well and not break the budget for your next party. The 2008 Cono Sur Visión Pinot Noir had a screw cap closure and retails for $15.
On the nose I found red berries, plums, dusty fruit, black fruit, cedar, vanilla, bright red fruit, spice, earth, and leather. It had a pretty classic Pinot Noir nose, more on the new world side of things. In the mouth I got strawberry, earth, leather, and bright red fruit. The mouth was a bit less complex than the nose, but it had great acidity and seemed like it would be really food friendly.
